Barbecoa Restaurant with Jamie Oliver

Speirs + Major are delighted to be involved in the design of a new restaurant concept called Barbecoa. Due to open in late 2010 in the One New Change building opposite St Paul's, Barbecoa is a joint venture between Jamie Oliver and New York chef Adam Perry Lang. The restaurant will specialise in American-style barbecued dishes and includes a takeaway outlet and a butcher’s shop.

Working with interior designer Tom Dixon of Design Research Studio, our task is to craft an identity for the venue and create a dramatic atmosphere using light. There is a hope that if the venue is successful, further Barbecoa restaurants will be rolled out across the UK.
