Jonathan Speirs has been made an honorary member of the International Association of Lighting Designers. The honour, announced during the association's evening awards ceremony held in Philadelphia, USA, was granted in recognition of Jonathan's outstanding commitment to the lighting design profession over several years.

The US-based association has previously conferred honours on several Speirs + Major projects. In 2008, Speirs + Major began a lucky hat-trick winning the association's top Radiance Award three years in a row for Barajas International Airport (2008), 3 More London (2009) and the Grand Mosque of Abu Dhabi (2010).
