Day one: lecture on the opening day of the 2010 Decorex show in Johannesburg. 'Conversations in Architecture' was a full day of presentations discussing the relationship between architecture, light and digital space. Next on to the University of Pretoria to discuss our approach to designing with light. New and emerging technologies were of particular interest to the mixed audience of student architects and engineers.

Day two: presentations on the 'Added Value' of good lighting design and case studies to illustrate our process were presented to engineers, architects and suppliers. In South Africa there are many opportunities but the value of good lighting design is a question constantly asked by clients. Our experience of working internationally on a diverse range of projects and budgets hopefully gave some useful tips on how to communicate the value of light.

I was made very welcome and would like to thank everybody involved for their kind hospitality- hopefully it will not be too long before an opportunity arises for us to work there.
