Drawings of the City of London by 100 prominent architects, including our own Mark Major, will be auctioned for disaster relief charity
Article 25 on 1st December.
Lights on the London Wall by Mark Major / Speirs + Major
The artworks were created for
10 x 10: Drawing the City, a charitable event organised by architects Tim Makower of Allies and Morrison and Stephen Taylor of Stephen Taylor Architects.
London’s ‘Square Mile’ was divided up into a 10 x 10 grid, and each contributor was asked to draw one 160m2 square.
Mark’s night-time portrait of the City,
Lights on the London Wall, will be auctioned alongside
99 other contributions by architects such as Norman Foster, Chris Wilkinson, Sunand Prasad and David Adjaye.
Supported by Sotheby’s and developer Argent, all the proceeds from the auction will go to Article 25, which designs and builds projects in areas suffering from natural disasters or poverty.
The drawings will go on display at the German Gymnasium in Argent’s King’s Cross development on 30 November, and will be auctioned the following day. For more information see the
organisers' website.
