The Phoenix Media building, recently completed in Beijing, is in illustrious company as it joins our family of 'inside out' projects, where we approach the design of the lighting of the interior such that it also reveals and enhances the form and shape of the building when viewed from the exterior at night.

Soft internal light adds a sense of welcome to the complex twisted geometry of Phoenix TV’s huge headquarters, set on the corner of a much-revered public park in Central Beijing.

Supporting the building’s premise as an open access public forum for contemporary Chinese media, carefully positioned internal light promotes views into the building, complemented by gentle facade lighting to the building's carved undercroft. This inside-out approach effectively dissolves the glass and steel facade, creating a lit image that connects and invites passers-by into the internal activity of TV broadcasting.
