Appointments
Working closely with OKRA Architects and Greenwich Council, Speirs + Major has been appointed to develop the lighting concept for the public realm re-design of Cutty Sark Gardens in Greenwich. A part of the Greenwich World Heritage Site, the gardens are also the famous setting of the Cutty Sark ship, which is located in a dry dock in its centre.

The initiative is part of Greenwich's bid to improve the borough ahead of the Olympic Games in 2012. The challenge is to create a more attractive place that encourages people to stay longer and animate the site better. The after-dark strategy will be a crucial part of helping the site unlock its full potential.
