The question of whether to light or not to light is especially interesting for us as lighting designers with the need to walk a fine line between over-and-under lighting. Mark Major has lectured on and written articles regarding dark cities and why dark matters, and we strive to design lighting schemes that compliment the night, rather than conquer it.
