Spitfire Monument

November 10 2011 — by Karina Armburg Jennings
Appointments
We are delighted to be working with Nick Hancock Design Studio on the Spitfire Monument in Southampton. We will be creating a striking lighting scheme for the 40m high monument, which pays tribute to RJ Mitchell, the inventor of the Spitfire, its designers, test pilots and constructors, and includes a pool of remembrance in its centre. The plane itself is a 1.5 full scale model of the aircraft in flight, soaring over Southampton's waterfront with a wingspan of 16m.
