Jonathan Speirs Retires

December 15 2011 — by Press
It is with great regret that we must announce Jonathan’s full retirement from Speirs + Major. As many know Jonathan stepped down as a Director in February 2010 due to ill health . Despite this he continued to provide invaluable support and guidance as a consultant to the practice. Other priorities now require his attention. Our continuing friendship with Jonathan is of considerable importance. He will always be a source of inspiration.

A short statement from Jonathan:

It has been my privilege to work with both Mark and Keith for many years - the two most creative and nicest people in the industry - and together as well as each of us individually leading our own projects we had great fun as well as achieving what we all like to believe is a significant body of work, of which we are all very proud. My enforced retirement was for health reasons two years ago, when I was diagnosed with terminal cancer. With an incredibly positive attitude and treatment and, not least, wonderful support from family and friends I am currently beating the experts prognosis by over 20 months and plan on lasting a lot longer yet!

I for one can't wait to see what the team dream up in the future but I expect to be surprised and delighted - and I hope supporters and critics will be too. I believe one of the enduring aspects of Speirs + Major is that we have always been, and will always continue to be our own greatest critics in pursuit of the best creative ideas and solutions for each and every project.
