Westminster Abbey chandeliers turn blue

May 12 2020 — by Karina Armburg Jennings
Westminster Abbey was lit in blue for the 200th anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale today.

It was wonderful to see the built-in flexibility of the new lighting scheme we have designed for Westminster Abbey used to honour such an amazing person and a worthy cause. The refurbished Waterford crystal chandeliers which form part of the completed first phase of the project are pre-programmed to be anything from dim and warm for the evenings to bright and cool during the day. The RGBW LED lamps also allow saturated colours to be employed for very special occasions such as this one.

Clinical research nurse Arlene Lee holds a lamp, symbolic of Florence Nightingale, which is carried at the Abbey's annual nurses' service held each May. This year's service has had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

SKP-S Beijing

We are excited to share images from the recently completed SKP-S Beijing department store.

We worked closely with Sybarite on the external, after-dark image of the extraordinary sinuous forms of SKP-S Beijing. The internal, origami facade was developed to catch light by day and night, exaggerating both depth and texture. Gentle pulses of light exaggerate the form of the facade creating an alluring image. Sinuous light forms are echoed in the landscape features.

Hammersmith Town Hall

May 01 2020 — by Karina Armburg Jennings
We are very pleased to be working alongside RSHP and the wider design team on the redevelopment of Hammersmith Town Hall for Hammersmith & Fulham Council.

The existing Hammersmith Town Hall courtyard, designed by Ernest Berry Webber, has been reimagined by RSHP as the new hub of the proposed Civic Campus. Hammersmith Town Hall is a pioneering collaboration with multiple stakeholders and local amenity groups - a civic campus with access for all.
